Old oil-refinery town reborn as Aruba's street-art district — Aruba Art Fair central.

San Nicolas at the south-east end of the island was the company town for Lago oil refinery; when Lago closed, the town slumped. A street-art initiative starting 2016 transformed it — over 70 large-scale murals now line the streets, and the annual Aruba Art Fair (late September) draws international muralists. Charlie's Bar from 1941 is institutional.
