Five limestone peaks with Buddhist cave shrines, a stone-carving village, and a quieter southern beach with fewer crowds.
The quieter southern beach area near the Marble Mountains — five limestone peaks with caves, Buddhist shrines and a UNESCO-listed stone-carving village below. Further from the city centre but excellent for those combining beach time with archaeology. My Khê Beach continues south here with fewer crowds.

What you gain
- ↑The Marble Mountains cave system contains some of the most atmospheric Buddhist shrines in Vietnam: Huyen Khong Cave — a vast cavern with a natural skylight illuminating an altar and Buddhist statues — creates an experience entirely unlike the more conventional temple circuit elsewhere
- ↑The Non-Nuoc marble carving village has operated continuously since the 17th century: 2,000+ workshops produce everything from small Buddhas to full garden statuary, and watching carvers at work is a genuine craft tourism experience rather than a commercial spectacle
- ↑Non-Nuoc beach at the base of the Marble Mountains is the quietest and least developed beach near Da Nang: a long stretch without the high-rise hotel corridor of My Khe, popular with local families on weekends and largely undiscovered by international visitors
What you sacrifice
- ↓The Marble Mountains require a Grab or taxi from central Da Nang — no convenient public transport exists and the 9km journey makes it a half-day excursion rather than a quick visit
- ↓The mountain complex can be busy with domestic tour groups on weekends: the narrow stairways and cave entrances create bottlenecks during peak hours (10am–2pm)

Other Da Nang neighbourhoods
Urban Da Nang — the Dragon Bridge fire show, the Han Market, night food markets, and the best transport hub in central Vietnam.
The main beach road — 30km of white sand, seafood restaurants, and the hotels that define Da Nang as a coastal destination.
The UNESCO old town 30km south — lantern-lit canals, tailors, the Japanese covered bridge, and more cultural depth than Da Nang city.
