Cancun

The northern Hotel Zone — big all-inclusive resorts, Cancun's best beaches, closest to the airport.
The northern stretch of the Hotel Zone (Zona Hotelera) runs from the airport access road up to Punta Cancun and contains the bulk of Cancun's large all-inclusive resort properties. Playa Delfines and Playa Caracol are among the finest Caribbean beaches in Mexico — powder white sand, calm turquoise water, and the postcard view of the Hotel Zone skyline. The tradeoff is the same as every all-inclusive strip: you are in a bubble, and Mexico is elsewhere.

What you gain
- ↑Playa Delfines and Playa Caracol: two of the finest beaches on Mexico's Caribbean coast, directly accessible from most north-zone resorts
- ↑Large family all-inclusive properties with pools, kids clubs, water sports, and every amenity within the resort perimeter
- ↑Closest Hotel Zone section to Cancun International Airport — 10–15 minutes versus 25–35 minutes from the southern strip
What you sacrifice
- ↓A taxi or R-1 bus ride is required to reach anything outside the resort; the strip is not a walkable neighbourhood in any meaningful sense
- ↓The resort bubble is total — most guests go an entire week without experiencing anything recognisably Mexican
- ↓Food and drink options beyond the hotel restaurants and beach clubs come at hotel-adjacent prices
