Restored traditional market with boutique hotels — Doha's most atmospheric base.
The historic souq, restored from 2006 in mud-brick style, with spice alleys, falconry shops, gold and perfume lanes, plus the Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels (a cluster of 5-star properties built into the old fabric). The pedestrian terraces fill from 8pm onwards with families, shisha and Levantine restaurants. Walking distance to the Museum of Islamic Art and Msheireb Downtown.
