Doha
The Pearl-Qatar

Artificial island with marina, Italianate piazzas and expat-friendly restaurants.
A 4km² reclaimed-land development north of Katara, themed around a Mediterranean marina. Qanat Quartier mimics Venice canals; Porto Arabia is the main marina strip with restaurants and luxury yachts; Medina Centrale is the local-services centre. The Pearl is also the area where alcohol licences for stand-alone (non-hotel) restaurants are easier to obtain, hence most of Doha's expat bar/restaurant culture lives here.
