The Venetian-walled party capital — Carpe Diem, superyachts and the most expensive square in Croatia.
Walled Venetian town with the largest piazza in Dalmatia (St Stephen's Square), the Spanish Fortress overhead and Carpe Diem on Stipanska Island offshore. In July-August this is one of the loudest places in Europe; in May or September it's a Renaissance harbour with great seafood. Stay here for nightlife and sunsets; avoid if you came for quiet.
