Koh Lanta
Long Beach (Khlong Dao)

The main beach — 3km of sand, family-friendly resort strip, and the best sunsets on the island.
Hat Khlong Dao is Koh Lanta's longest beach and its tourism epicentre: a 3km sweep of golden sand backed by a strip of mid-range and upmarket resorts, open-air seafood restaurants, and bars that fill at sunset. The beach faces due west, making it the island's premier sunset destination — tables are claimed by 5pm. Snorkelling is modest here but the swimming is good and the family infrastructure — kids' menus, shallow entry, sunbeds — is the best on the island.

What you gain
- ↑The island's definitive sunset: Long Beach faces due west and the sky turns extraordinary most evenings from November to April
- ↑Best concentration of restaurants and bars within walking distance on the beach road

What you sacrifice
- ↓Most touristy stretch of Koh Lanta — can feel crowded at peak season compared to Kantiang Bay
