Lake Bled

Bigger, quieter glacial lake 30km west inside Triglav National Park — Bled's wilder, less posed sibling.
Lake Bohinj sits 30 minutes from Bled inside Triglav National Park, the larger and dramatically wilder of Slovenia's two great glacial lakes. Ribcev Laz at the eastern end is the small base of hotels and pensions; Stara Fuzina village a kilometre away holds the more authentic stays. Use this as a base if you want hiking access (Vogel cable car, Mostnica Gorge, Triglav approach) and don't mind giving up the Bled island view.
