Monaco
Larvotto & La Condamine

Monaco's only beach (pebbly) plus the working harbour — most liveable base for a longer stay.
Two adjacent districts: La Condamine wraps around Port Hercule with the Sunday morning market on Place d'Armes, while Larvotto is the redeveloped beach strip east of Monte-Carlo with beach clubs (La Note Bleue, Miami Plage) and the new sea-front promenade. The most everyday section of Monaco — supermarkets, fishmongers, and the only place locals actually swim.

What you gain
- ↑Larvotto beach (pebbly but lifeguarded, with showers and beach clubs)
- ↑Sunday morning Marché de la Condamine — the only properly local scene
- ↑Walk to Monte-Carlo Casino in 10 min along the harbour
What you sacrifice
- ↓Beach is pebbles, not sand — water shoes recommended
- ↓Larvotto post-2022 redevelopment is shiny but lacks atmosphere
- ↓Port Hercule construction or yacht shows can block harbour views
