Rio de Janeiro
Copacabana

The original Rio — a 4km crescent beach, the most famous hotel in Latin America, and maximum energy.
Copacabana is Rio's original tourist district and remains its most internationally recognised: the mosaic promenade, the Copacabana Palace hotel, and a 4km beach that holds two million people on New Year's Eve. It's more chaotic and less refined than Ipanema, but has more energy, more accommodation choice, and better value for those not requiring boutique hotels. The neighbourhood never stops.
