UNESCO-listed preserved fishing village — 19th-century rorbu cabins, no through-road, the most atmospheric overnight in Lofoten.
Nusfjord, on a tight inlet on the south side of Flakstadøya, is one of the best-preserved traditional fishing villages in Norway, with about 40 protected 19th-century buildings. Most of the rorbu cabins on stilts over the water are now Nusfjord Arctic Resort guest accommodation — restored, modernised inside, but architecturally untouched. The village charges an entry fee for day visitors. No through-road means the village feels frozen in time. Only 20 minutes from Reine but a world away in feel.
