The island's main port and most practical base — budget guesthouses, the fast boat dock, and Manta Point access.
Toyapakeh is where the fast boats from Sanur, Padang Bai, and Kusamba arrive, and it functions as the island's working commercial hub: scooter rental shops, money changers, basic warungs, and the highest concentration of budget guesthouses. It is not pretty — the port area is functional rather than scenic — but it is the most practical base for a multi-day stay, with easy morning departures to Manta Point and reasonable access to the southwest circuit by hired scooter. The north coast here offers calm snorkelling and views across to the Bali coast.

What you gain
- ↑Closest base to the fast boat pier — no long transfers on arrival or departure
- ↑Budget guesthouse prices: the cheapest island-stay options of adequate quality are concentrated here
- ↑Best morning access to Manta Point dive and snorkel trips, which depart at dawn from the northern coast
What you sacrifice
- ↓The port area is functional, not attractive — not the romantic island-stay experience
- ↓Furthest from the southwest clifftop circuit; Kelingking is a 45–60 minute scooter ride
- ↓Limited restaurant quality: warungs serve honest food but the variety is narrow
