Okinawa
Naha (Kokusai Dori)

Capital city base around Kokusai Dori's 1.6km shopping strip — monorail access and budget hotels.
Naha is Okinawa's urban gateway: airport monorail terminus, ferry port for the outer islands, and the only place on the prefecture with a proper city centre. Kokusai Dori (International Street) is touristy but every Okinawan staple — soki soba, taco rice, awamori bars — is within four blocks. Stay here if you don't want a rental car.
