Imerovigli

The quieter caldera village between Fira and Oia — higher, calmer, and arguably the best views.
Imerovigli sits at the highest point of the caldera rim between Fira and Oia, and has the most dramatic caldera outlook on the island — the volcanic rock of Skaros below, the full caldera sweep ahead. It's significantly quieter than either Oia or Fira, the accommodation quality is high, and the proximity to both (20 minutes walk either direction on the rim path) makes it a genuinely strategic base.

What you gain
- ↑The best unobstructed caldera view on Santorini — wider than Oia, with Skaros Rock dramatic below
- ↑Significantly calmer than Oia and Fira; the sunset crowds pass through but don't base here
- ↑Skaros Rock hike: a short 30-minute walk to a dramatic volcanic promontory above the caldera
What you sacrifice
- ↓Very quiet after dark; Imerovigli has almost no restaurant or nightlife infrastructure of its own
- ↓Still expensive — caldera-view accommodation commands a serious premium even here
- ↓A 20-minute walk or taxi ride to Fira's transit connections
