Whitehaven & Hook Island

Day-trip and bareboat country — Whitehaven's silica sand, Hook reef snorkelling, no resorts.
Whitsunday Island's Whitehaven Beach (7km of 98% pure silica sand) and Hook Island's coral fringing reefs form the day-trip and bareboat-charter heart of the region. There are no resorts — only national park campsites, day-tripper jet boats from Airlie, and bareboat yachts anchored in Nara Inlet, Stonehaven and Butterfly Bay. Best experienced on a 2-3 day live-aboard sail.
