The quiet upscale beach north of Ao Nang — long, uncrowded, and resort-focused.
Klong Muang is the stretch of coast north of Ao Nang where Krabi's better resort hotels are concentrated: a long, largely empty beach without a commercial strip, fronted by properties that offer better value per square metre of quiet sand than anything in Ao Nang. The sea conditions are typically calmer here and the beach shallower, making it one of the more comfortable options for young children. Access to Ao Nang and the Railay longtail pier requires a car or taxi.

What you gain
- ↑Long uncrowded beach with none of Ao Nang's commercial strip, touts, or tour boats: the kind of quiet sand that is increasingly rare on the Krabi coast
- ↑Better resort-hotel quality than Ao Nang at similar or lower prices: mid-range and upscale properties here consistently outperform equivalent Ao Nang rates
- ↑Calmer, shallower sea conditions good for young children: the water is gentler than the more exposed Ao Nang or Railay beaches
What you sacrifice
- ↓Car or taxi required to reach Ao Nang or the longtail pier for Railay and island tours: factor ฿200–400 each way into every day trip
- ↓Very limited restaurants and shops outside the resort compounds; dining options outside your hotel are sparse without transport
- ↓Completely dead outside the dry season (November–April): most properties close or operate on skeleton service during the monsoon months
